
Surface Creek Community Fund Awards $23,290 in Grants to Local Nonprofits
Funding supports projects that strengthen Cedaredge and surrounding communities
October 28, 2025 | Cedaredge, CO — The Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) has awarded $23,290 in grants to 12 local nonprofits, supporting projects and programs that enrich life in Cedaredge and nearby communities. Funding partners include the Town of Cedaredge and generous local donors whose ongoing support helps ensure a vibrant and resilient Surface Creek Valley.
Now in its sixth year, the Surface Creek Community Fund is building a permanent source of support for local nonprofits that serve the communities of Austin, Cedaredge, Cory, Eckert, and Orchard City.
This year’s grant recipients include:
- Cedar Harbor
- Cedaredge Community Gardens Association
- Colorado West Land Trust – Montrose
- Delta County Public Library District
- Delta County School District – Delta Family Center
- Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center
- Grand Mesa Nordic Council
- KVNF Community Radio
- Little Sprouts Community Preschool
- Surface Creek Animal Shelter
- Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, Inc.
- The Nature Connection
Community members are invited to celebrate these nonprofits and their impact at a Grant Award Celebration on Thursday, November 6 from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at the Stolte Shed. Nonprofits will share stories of how this funding helps strengthen the Surface Creek area, and attendees can meet SCCF committee members to learn more about the fund’s vision for a sustainable and thriving community.
The Surface Creek Community Fund is an endowed fund managed in partnership with the Western Colorado Community Foundation (WCCF), which provides expertise and stewardship to grow the endowment and distribute earnings annually.
