2025 Impacts

Here to Support Western Slope Communities Since 1996

The Western Colorado Community Foundation has been promoting charitable giving and supporting community organizations across seven counties for nearly 30 years. Our donors come from different backgrounds, have unique perspectives and support various community causes, and all strive to make the communities they know and love better places to live.

Our Community Foundation has long worked with various partners across our region with the primary goal of strengthening and improving the communities we call home. This work includes increasing access to healthy food and decreasing stigma so that all children have the nutritious foods they need to thrive, supporting the mental health of our youth by launching initiatives to promote healthy tech use, ensuring that vulnerable homebound seniors have access to the resources they need, and working to conserve and steward the unique landscapes that residents so enjoy in western Colorado. This work has always been done without regard to politics; the work has been done with partners across the political spectrum who all have the same goal of supporting the communities we call home.

Amidst changes at the federal level, our Community Foundation is committed to supporting the needs of the residents of the Western Slope. A heartfelt thank you to the committed nonprofits and various agencies working directly with families and individuals to provide essential services and basic needs, along with support and guidance. Community Grants in 2025 will be focused on organizations acutely impacted by the changes at the federal level. Please message info@wc-cf.org to reach a member of WCCF Programs Team to learn more.

The following resource list has been compiled to assist non-profits, community leaders and others in navigating the changing landscape.  As noted by our friends at Rose Community Foundation, the late Pat Schroeder, Colorado’s first female U.S. Representative, famously said: “You can’t wring your hands and roll up your sleeves at the same time.”  We look forward to rolling up our sleeves alongside our donors, fund holders, and non-profits today, tomorrow and for years to come.
