FOR ADVISORS

ASSISTING YOU AND YOUR  CLIENTS

The Western Colorado Community Foundation considers attorneys, CPAs, financial planners, trust officers, and other professionals who work with clients on financial and estate planning issues to be valued partners in the charitable planning process. Community-minded individuals – your clients, our donors – have a lot of factors to consider as they contemplate a complex charitable gift or establishing a charitable legacy fund that will continue beyond their lifetime. We can provide valuable ideas and planning perspective, along with tools and resources for your clients. Establishing a donor- directed fund at our Community Foundation may be the perfect solution for your client’s philanthropic goals.

We have an outstanding reputation for integrity and service to donors and have developed unique resources for you to use in helping donors craft their charitable giving plans. Our Community Foundation does not provide legal or financial advice. Donors are encouraged to work directly with their legal and financial advisors when considering a fund or making a planned gift.

The Community Foundation of Western Colorado Community Foundation works with you to ensure your client knows their options.

  • As a 501(c)3 public charity, contributions to our funds are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.
  • We accept complex assets like real estate, private stock, and retirement funds.

  • Charitable funds at the Western Colorado Community Foundation provide many of the same benefits of starting a private foundation without the administrative burden. See the difference here.
