Job Overview: This position will be an integral part of WCCF’s Finance Department and a collaborative team member that supports various function areas by performing day-to-day accounting tasks, data entry, account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end closing procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Enter and process vendor invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Record and reconcile credit card activity monthly
  • Manage vendor records
  • Compile, complete and distribute 1099s
  • Assist the Programs Team with grant and scholarship entry

Accounts Receivable

  • Enter and process all donor gifts
  • Record intercompany receivables monthly or as needed
  • Prepare invoices for internal and external use

General Ledger and Financials

  • Reconcile monthly bank and investment statements
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare and enter journal entries
  • Assist with preparing quarterly reconciliations for general ledger accounts
  • Prepare financial reports for various departments and management

Other

  • Assist finance department to improve financial processes and policies
  • Assist in the annual audit and 990 process
  • Support other organizational function areas in a collaborative work environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the organization

 

General Tasks

  • Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Limited travel is required in the seven (7) county area in western Colorado; out of region travel may be required for industry conferences and trainings
  • Required to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events and other projects

Supervision and Reporting:

This position reports to the Senior Accountant and collaborates regularly with other departments

Job Qualifications, Competencies and Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • At least 2 years related experience
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ethics for handling confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest and ability to learn specialized database software and new technology
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to perform tasks carefully, accurately, and efficiently
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player, willing to help, and flexible

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay: $23 – $26 an hour
