Mutual Aid Partners has a new location for their Tuesday Distribution Day, also known as Distro Day, event that hands out food and other necessities. They are now located at the Downtown Vineyard Church at Fourth Street and Grand Avenue. The Distro Day had been held at the resource center at 261 Ute Ave., which closed in June. Executive Director, Stephania Vasconez, notes, “Things are going really well. We are so grateful for the Downtown Vineyard Church for allowing us to be inside, we were kind of worried we would have to be out in a parking lot again, and with the crazy temperatures it’s really nice to be able to be inside and also let folks have some respite from the heat as well.”
Mutual Aid is part of the Mesa County Hunger Alliance, partnering with various hunger relief entities and working closely with Food Bank of the Rockies. To learn more, see the following article by Sam Klomhaus on July 2, in the Grand Juntion Daily Sentinel.
