TGYS is launching a new annual Youth and Community Partnership (YCP) grant to promote and deepen youth and community influence in the policies and decisions that affect Colorado’s marginalized populations. TGYS envisions an increase in collaboration and inclusion of youth and community member’s voice to prevent youth crime and violence, youth alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, student dropout, and child abuse and neglect.
The YCP grant application is carefully designed to boost equitable access to funds for organizations serving marginalized populations that face barriers, rural areas, frontier counties, and tribal entities. Youth and community involvement is required throughout this grant process.
What: 1-year funding opportunity to support youth and community-led initiatives within communities. A youth and community led initiative is one that involves the youth and
community voice at each of the following stages: planning; implementation; budget; and evaluation.
Requirements:
● Youth or community lead for the project
● Programmatic “Support Staff” from the organization or backbone of the initiative
● Initiative focused on one of the four TGYS prevention areas: 1) youth crime & violence prevention, 2) youth alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention, 3)student dropout prevention, or 4) child abuse and neglect prevention
Grant Maximum Award Amount: $20,000
Grant Minimum Award Amount: $10,000
