Our Community Foundation was pleased to provide support for a second year to D51’s Girls in STEM event, coined “Mission to Mars”. This event brought 100 young women together to learn new skills and develop and present STEM-based projects. 2019 saw over double the number of female students participate, in comparison to 2018. Attending from 17 schools and five CO counties, these students presented to a panel of STEM professionals about their designs. It was a day of teamwork, creativity, and public speaking skills!
Congratulations to Heidi Ragsdale, West Middle School science teacher and MESA Clubs Coordinator, and the Space Foundation Teacher Liaisons who organized and developed this event.
