The Brownson Memorial Fund has just made its 2014 grant commitments totaling $14,300 to: Girls on the Run, Grand Valley Catholic Outreach La Mariposa program, Marillac Clinic, Mesa County Partners, Salvation Army Adult Rehab program, Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation work place outreach initiative, and the Drug Threat Oversight Committee (formerly The Meth Task Force).

Girls on the Run is a prevention and empowerment program that combines training and running with personal skill-building for girls in grades 3-8. Our first field-of-interest fund, the Brownson Memorial Fund has granted $270,000 in Mesa County since 1985. The grantmaking group supports programs addressing drug and alcohol abuse prevention, treatment and education.
