Ouray County nonprofits are encouraged to apply to the newly established Ouray County Community Fund, a geographic fund of the Western Colorado Community Foundation (WCCF). All nonprofits serving Ouray County are eligible to apply and grants can range from $500 to $4,000. The total amount available for grants this year is $15,000. The local Ouray County Community Fund steering committee will review applications and determine awards.
The application deadline is Thursday, September 15, 2016. Applications should be submitted through the WCCF website at wc-cf.org/nonprofits/grantmaking, by clicking “Ouray County Community Fund” tab.
The Ouray County Community Fund was established as an endowed or permanent fund by local community leaders in Ouray County. The founders of the fund hope to build an initial endowment of $100,000 this year, and make grants available annually to local nonprofits.
The Western Colorado Community Foundation serves seven counties in western Colorado, including Ouray, managing charitable funds for community good. Currently, the Community Foundation manages over 250 charitable funds totaling nearly $55 million in assets and awards over $2 million in grants and scholarships annually.
