Smooth river stones with the words COMMUNITY, IMPACT and LEGACY adorned the tables at the CMU Ballroom on May 23rd for a celebration luncheon. This luncheon kicks of several months of activities across our 7-county region as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Western Colorado Community Foundation.

WCCF Board Chair Martie Edwards thanked the crowd for all their contributions to the growth and success of our regional Community Foundation over the past 20 years. WCCF Board Member Robin Brown recited a compelling “blessing” on Why We Live and Give Here, highlighting the importance of giving back to insure a strong future for the place we call home.

The after lunch program included remarks by Anne Wenzel, WCCF President and Executive Director, and Tim Schultz, the retiring President of the Boettcher Foundation who shared some personal reflections on a 40-year career in philanthropy and public service. Mr. Schultz and the Boettcher Foundation were instrumental in the founding of WCCF and supported us generously in our early years.

A big THANK YOU to Alpine Bank, Bernie and Mary Beth Buescher and Ireland-Stapleton for underwriting our anniversary luncheon.
